She's pledging allegiance

Rosie, that is. Yep, pledging her allegiance to the twoof, not the truth.

Says she'll not likely believe the official explanation for long while (until they change it to "Bush blew the towers"?) and oh yeah, those who condemn her refusal to believe the pablum are haters of democracy and Orwellian imbeciles.

Back in the real world Iran is now signaling it might be time to end the hostage crisis they created. Interesting. The Mullahs clearly organized the rock-throwing protest at the British Embassy in Tehran yesterday then announced that all 15 had confessed (perhaps they celebrate April Fools, too) only to now suggest they only want a diplomatic solution. Is this it?
In London, a British official, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue, said Prime Minister Tony Blair's government had agreed to consider ways to avoid such situations in the future.

The official insisted that Britain was not negotiating with the Iranians and still wanted the captives freed unconditionally.
So much for keeping a stiff upper lip. But the bigger question is how Rosie might react should the British indeed resort to low level capitulation. After all, this was supposed to be the "Gulf of Tonkin" part two, a staged event designed to trigger the Bushco war machine. Hey, maybe we can all just Google it!

MORE 4/2/07

As mentioned earlier we're going to witness which style of diplomacy/reaction works best when irrational dictators do irrational things near war zones. After some early success it looks like the Blair approach is withering a bit. It's understandable that many diplomats and muckity-mucks are afraid this could blow into a war--nobody wants that. But rational people also don't want this to set a precedent.
