Is the former Secretary of State in hot water due to possibly trafficking classified emails on her private email system? News coverage seems to be trending that direction. But it could also be a huge red herring. The FBI is now involved, what if they come back in say January and announce that no evidence was found of her illegally moving classified documents?
Yes, that will effectively 'clear' her in the minds of those who carve the American narrative (and you know you they are). Hillary will sail forward to the nomination calling anyone who brings up the matter a hater or worse and she will be bolstered by her high profile supporters, otherwise known as mainstream journalists.
That's why people need to take a step back and focus.
The issue is not just classified emails. Finding zero evidence of classified docs doesn't clear her. Her crime is conducting government business entirely on a private server she controlled! Based on rules and good ethics practices alone it basically an illegal network. She literally told the American public to pound sand--she was going to have her own State Dept IT department and run her business off the grid, not reachable by FOIA or Congress or even some in the administration.
And when it came time to turn over government-related emails to the archivists, she and she alone got to decide what was relevant and what went to the bit bucket. And that HAD TO BE by design. And that design had to be approved by the President of the United States, where bucks are supposed to go to stop.
And this same person is running to control everything.

The Old Gray Lady takes a Mulligan (or three)
So yes, conservatives were ticked, mainly because nothing like that ever happens to them after a NY Times bombshell. When a former Bush White House press secretary confirms it then it's not just a bunch of squawking from partisan yahoos.
Now enter another yahoo doing what leftists do--spinning the legitimate response into something sinister in an attempt to make the response--not the original action--the story:
The point here being that the New York Times wasn’t buckling under to the Clinton campaign. It was undertaking a long and painful walk-back.Eric fargin Wemple, spending a column bashing conservatives for reacting to the Times reversing a blockbuster story before it was even through the news cycle, done at the behest of the Clinton campaign, based on the same kind of anonymous sourcing they claim was behind the original story. Wow, it's not like the Times doesn't have editors. Or reporters. Or maybe they enacted this FUBAR on purpose?
On Friday afternoon, the Erik Wemple Blog asked Clinton campaign spokesman Nick Merrill what he thought of complaints that the New York Times was doing the bidding of the Clinton campaign in making those initial, stealth changes. His answer: “You’re not serious are you?”Ahhhhh. Yes. A Clinton hack says the mainstream media is tough on Hils, so it's true, right Eric? Maybe he doesn't realize how stupid that sounds.
Maybe he doesn't realize David Petraeus was brought up on charges for handing classified info to a fellow member of the military (with a clearance) and had his career ruined.
It's really getting hard to put fingers to keyboard anymore. This stuff never changes. The Alinsky press continues focusing on GOP division, heralding every Trump quote about Mexicans as they put a GOP sign around his neck, while ignoring the fact he never bashes Hillary, which makes his entire stunt suspect. But not worth investigating. They don't even know Fiorina exists. And the surgeon is invisible. They simply never tire of trying to shape the campaign rather than just reporting on it.
And don't even start on the GOP itself, who deserve all the incoming ridicule. Way to pull defeat from the jaws of victory, McBoner.
Meanwhile the president has become nothing but a shallow Democratic message board troll, flitting around here and there on Air Force One to scold half the nation (when not scolding foreign leaders not involved in terrorism), actually saying he's concerned about who HE hands the keys to the White House in 2017? Excuse me sir, but YOU are not handing them to anyone WE don't elect. You get one vote just like the rest of us.
Amazing. Frustrating. Ridiculous. America, 2015.

Another Convenient Study
It appears ABC News pulled a hamstring in getting this report to press:
All along we should have been fearing the new Confederacy?
Why yes, according to the left wing website ABC is quoting, whose study purports that "right wing" terrorists have killed more than the American Jihad since 2001.
Now, this has come up before and it was just as silly back then. What this group is doing is pretty much mixing data to get their desired result (attack their real enemies on the right) and they do it by pretending certain events are terrorism attacks, all carried out by the new confederacy conspiracy. In reality they are comparing a global cause, jihadism in the furtherance of Islamic Shariah world control, with a series of unconnected crimes. It's amazing too, because for years the left wanted Islamic terrorism treated like an unconnected series of crimes, now it's no longer convenient to do that.
If one is unconvinced one need not look beyond the attack on the Austin Texas IRS building, which they consider "right wing" terrorism (not only them). The guy who flew into the building was 1) crazier than a bedbug and 2) left a manifesto praising Marx.
ABC "News" could have researched this a little and come to a similar conclusion but it was apparently "too good to check". Or they checked it, understood the above, and decided they themselves wouldn't attach 'right wing' to their story, only leave it hanging as an inference (for plausible deniability).
Thank Heaven for the internet. Can anyone imagine a world where all we got was ABC News reports like this without the ability to double-check anything or make our voices heard far and wide? Well, at least far.
US Radicals Bigger Terror Threat Than Jihadis in AmericaWow. So all this stuff about ISIS sympathizers being tracked in all 50 states and the US being under the greatest threat in our history is just a bunch of hooey?
All along we should have been fearing the new Confederacy?

Diplomacy Update
Another red line has come and gone. Just remember, you are simply not capable of understanding the nuance.
And those regional wars you see in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen, various African nations and the Ukraine? Not really happening....
The spread of ISIS across the region? Not "core" AQ, just a JV squad..
But don't worry America. Be happy. Things are fine, the grass is green and water still flows into the pond alongside the 15th fairway. Gay marriage is the most important issue we issue we face as a nation, er wait, stop, check that..
We must defeat the Earth's climate and stop it from changing! Time is running out! Allowing the climate change red line to be crossed could result in the end of civilization. And who represents the biggest enemy force? Republican flat earth anti-science bigots of course. They cannot be dealt with at any negotiating tables or through writs or treaties, they simply must be degraded and ultimately destroyed.
Inshallah...

Arrogance is Bliss
To some at least. In particular, our political leadership.
At the top, our lecturer-in-chief, who doesn't want anyone pointing out that he's messing up the entire frigging world. He's got ISIS against Assad, Iran and Iraq, who are against Saudi Arabia and Israel, who are mad at America, who's against Putin, who's against everyone. Just don't get on your high horses and point this out because your ancestors did the Crusades and Jim Crow, you racist.
And there's our former Secretary of State, who has the balls to lecture her underlings at State not to use private emails while she's sending them out via her own home server. To which she and her staff get to decide which emails live or die or are later reported to her employer in order to meet federal retention requirements. She later has the nerve to 'tweet' a statement requesting that the State Department release all the emails she and her staff have chosen to send to State in violation of policy.... in the name of transparency of course.
Then there's our current Speaker of the House, who apparently invited Benjamin Netanyahu to speak in front of Congress as a diversion to dropping a bill that defended the Constitution against a power-hungry executive who "changed the law". This same Speaker is also evidently depending on Nancy Pelosi of all people to ward off a mutiny from his own Tea Party caucus. Good grief. And why wouldn't she help him by continuing the internecine circus act? He just wants to keep his parking spot and primo tee times.
It's enough to make a sane man cynical.

Say wha?
CNN is all giddy reporting a warm and fuzzy Christmas tale about the president's double-secret Cuban deal:
Now, does it really make any sense? Why wouldn't we just say "wait until the deal is done" since it seemed like a done deal anyway 6 months ago? Cuba had no incentive to mistreat Gross anyway, they needed him in good enough shape to allow the deal to get done because had he died in prison before the announcement the entire thing would have been a bit more problematic. The admin could have had one of their water boys tell Castro to pound sand, that Gross better get good treatment or the deal is off. They needed him healthy.
Without that reason, what else makes sense? How about Cuba insisting on letting the intelligence officer go to the prison for a conjugal as a sign of good faith--and she did. And she got pregnant. And now they have to make up a story to explain the baby bump.
If the artificial insemination story is really true then it requires timing on the part of Obama; in other words they were always planning to break this news after the mid-terms so they timed the insemination to the expected announcement date minus about 6+ months. Either that or the wife got knocked up by somebody else and the Cubans enlisted the US to help run a cover story. Which would be rather disgusting, our govt helping Fidel run commie agitprop.
But hey, we don't battle communism or stand strong for human rights anymore, we embrace those kinds of governments now because that's the new way to battle human rights, through capitalism. And because of cigars and rum.
Oh, as to the Senator implicated in helping this ruse come off, "Leaky Leahy" was the one Cheney told to F off back in the day. Leahy once supported his friend Dick Durbin when he called our troops at GITMO "Nazis". Apparently he prefers Marxists in Cuba over Nazis. But America doesn't care.
It might be the most bizarre of the closely guarded secrets from last week's historic agreement between the United States and Cuba: How did the leader of a Cuban spy ring serving life in a California federal prison manage to impregnate his wife 2,245 miles away in Havana? The story goes on to ask "why", as in why would the US Government allow an incarcerated Cuban spy to impregnate his Cuban intelligence officer wife 5-7 months before a deal? Their answer:
"In light of Mr. Hernandez's two life sentences," Fallon said, "the request was passed along by Senator [Patrick] Leahy, who was seeking to improve the conditions for Mr. Gross while he was imprisoned in Cuba."
The discretion on both sides makes sense.Nice of the CNN reporter to provide that important context about it making sense.

First Amendment Hypocrisy
So let's get his outrage straight. A comedy featuring the current NK leader's death is the same as a docu-drama about the death of the US president. Just imagine his reaction had Dinesh D'Souza's last movie ended with Obama getting shot by a firing squad or something. Hell, D'Souza was sent to jail for investigating the president's anti-imperialist background alone. Oh sorry, for a campaign violation, ahem.
And of course Hollywood would only make such a movie if the firing squad was a band of rogue Teabaggers wearing don't tread on me t-shirts. But Hollywood and the Obama State Department were all-in on blowing off Kim's head. Hey, the administration made a point today to vigorously defend Hollywood and creative people everywhere in exercising their first amendment rights.
Which is odd, because the same people have completely forgotten what they said caused Benghazi and the other uprisings on Sept 11, 2012--an ugly video about Mohammed. The same people even made a TV commercial at taxpayer expense to be shown in Pakistan begging forgiveness and separating the US from that ugly Mohammed film from Nakoula, who was tossed in jail. Oh right, for a previous warrant, ahem. The president even told the UN that the future doesn't belong to those who slander the Prophet of Islam. He was right, Nakoula's future certainly got worse.
The administration even took the unprecedented step of asking You Tube to take his video down.
So Dean, if you're looking for some hypocrisy, whoops there it is.

The Media is getting tougher on Obama? Guffaw.
Sharyl Attkisson is right about her colleagues, even if she fantasized all that stuff about her computer break-ins. Here's the New York Times editorial board reacting to a flim-flam climate agreement between Obama and the ChiComms, with the special code language in bold:
No, this editorial makes it clear that climate is secondary to nailing cracker Republican men of greed in a world of need for liberals. Like everything else they know best--if we stupid hicks would only listen to them their awesome climate strategies would make it cooler next summer.
Meanwhile this so-called agreement seems to call for China to basically do nothing until 2030, when their "cap" on peak emissions begins, while the United States agreed to CUT output by 26 percent over 2005 levels by 2025. So our goals happen before theirs. What a deal. Especially considering Chiner has already exceeded our CO2 output on a yearly basis.
And of course India is not included, but it doesn't matter because the Peking Commies have zero intention of following through on this, mainly because they are liars engaged in a virtual war with the United States as it is. Obama most assuredly knows this, he just wanted a climate cream pie to smear in McConnell's face (God knows what else he gave them to get this announcement) after the ass-kicking last Tuesday and the butt-hurt Times editorial writers wanted the same thing and are pleased.
Is it even worth mentioning that the administration seems to be bargaining--poorly--with a bunch of countries who are concurrently telling us to go to hell? Evidently there's a smart power reason hidden in this somewhere, but us stupid voters can't see it.
AND.. 11/13/14
Here's the Times helping their hero again, this time by calling illegal aliens "immigrants" that the president is planning to "shield"...
Nowhere in that image is the actual truth conveyed. But it will get worse. With the GOP in power Obama can now be shown by the media as the underdog, fighting for underdogs. They will always find a way to tilt the slant heading towards the historic first female president and first "first man".
AND THERE IT IS... 11/14/14
Up on top the following was scribbled...yesterday:
In the United States, the agreement cuts the ground from under people like Mitch McConnell, the next Senate majority leader, and others who have long argued that there is no point in taking aggressive steps against greenhouse gases as long as major developing countries refused to do likewise.
This argument effectively undermined Senate support for ratification of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. The climate deniers in Congress will find other reasons to oppose a strong climate strategy, and are doing so even now. But the “China” argument has effectively disappeared. They got it all in there, eh? And by the way, what exactly is a "climate denier"? Does anyone on either side deny there is climate? And what does a "strong climate strategy" mean? Does the NY Times think mankind can significantly alter the climate of the Earth to any significant degree (pun intended)?
No, this editorial makes it clear that climate is secondary to nailing cracker Republican men of greed in a world of need for liberals. Like everything else they know best--if we stupid hicks would only listen to them their awesome climate strategies would make it cooler next summer.

"The People's.." Fill in the Blank
Anytime someone has a rally or function and calls it "the People's" this or that, bank on it being a socialist rally. Case in point, climate change marches happened this week around the world, one big one in New York. A reporter writing for Grist took a train trip from California to the Big Apple with about 170 attendees of "the People's Climate March" (they called it the People's Train while riding there). In talking to one of the on board organizers she got this quote:
Make sure you have a lot of grandmothers at your protest, says Marina Skinner, who worked as a deputy field organizer for President Obama’s first campaign. “When you see an 80-year-old person, that is your walking billboard.”
And don’t be afraid to censor the protests that you are in charge of. “You are giving birth to a new movement,” Skinner says, “and one of the things that you learn in birthing class is that you are in control of your own birth.
When Obama and Biden were campaigning, if someone was holding a sign that wasn’t their message, they just told them to take that sign down. It was as simple as that. The civil rights movement did it. You can do it too.”In other words, do anything or say anything, because the goal is so important that lying, deception or obfuscation are OK. After all it's for the planet! And the children! And 80 year old grandmothers!
This ends justify means principle is used by both sides in politics, but generally speaking conservatives tend to feel guilty after doing it while liberals tend to embrace it wholeheartedly. Case in point, the president's gumby-like handling of the truth leading up to the 2012 election...
It's one thing for this principle to be used with campaign promises. It's quite another for it to be used with factual issues, such as a health care plan or the state of the climate. Yet there's Al Gore five years ago, giving us science lessons and bold predictions that turned out to be a pile of dog poop. The pie he got in the face for those gaffes never approached a slow day of news about Sarah Palin. Contrast it to how Jon Stewart just came down on a few GOP congressmen.
This week the same president who, as Stephen Colbert might say, was 'truthy' about his own health care plan and threats from foreign terrorists in 2012 will be telling everyone on Earth about the need to 'sacrifice' to save the planet. What sacrifice? Well, that's where the People's Climate March comes in, part of which became "Flood Wall Street": they point to the sacrifice being the end of western capitalism.

Follow the Money
Age old phrase, but mostly true. As to illegal immigration, most certainly true.
And if this story is true--it's too good to check--then 'follow the money' goes all the way inside the church and ends up in the pews:
The president wins by being seen as a compassionate savoir and hero to the left wing of his party, who wins by importing more potential voters that justifies growing the government bigger to support them. The illegal aliens basically win the lottery by getting here and the largesse that comes with it, part of which they send back to their home countries as a sizable portion of their GDPs.
The coyotes smuggling them win by getting paid by the illegals, part of which may include fine print saying they can be used to help the cartel once in America. The cartels and gangs win by deluding the border and gaining a wider distribution network. The Mexican officials allowing trainloads of illegals to pass unnoticed win by getting payoffs and the Mexican politicians win because they probably made deals with other governments to allow this to occur in the first place.
US business people win by an influx of cheap labor while unions win by a promise those workers will someday be unionized. Republican politicians win by getting more contributions from business people to look the other way and allow their cheap labor. US consumers win by the downward pressure on prices due to using the cheap labor versus higher paid citizen labor.
And finally, certain US religious institutions, including the Catholic church, win by getting grants to help the new immigrants become productive citizens that will come to mass every week.
The only loser is the rule of law and the bedrock principles that built the nation. But those documents are old and yellow and besides, there were periods where commas should be so who really knows what the founders meant? Didn't they talk about welfare?
In other words, there's no way this problem is going to be solved soon.
And if this story is true--it's too good to check--then 'follow the money' goes all the way inside the church and ends up in the pews:
Between Dec 2010 and Nov 2013, the Catholic Charities Diocese of Galveston received $15,549,078 in federal grants from Health & Human Services for “Unaccompanied Alien Children Project” with a program description of “Refugee and Entry Assistance.”
Last year, the Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Worth received $350,000 from Department of Homeland Security for “citizenship and education training” with a program description of “citizenship and immigration services.Think about it. We have a president in office who was sent from the Chicago political machine, a system where back-scratching occurs before people get up in the morning. This illegal alien thing is the classic back-scratch win-win-win-win, etc.

I'd Play Golf, Too
It's funny to watch the redheaded spokeswoman at the State Dept try to tamp down what appears to be absolute mass chaos around the world. They tell em in media training, keep smiling!
But in reality there's not much to smile about. Smart Power seems to be running low on solar cells at every turn. In the north the Russians just put Ukraine on a pre-payment system for gas supply and sent them a bill, which means they're in default because they haven't paid lately. A Ukrainian transport plane was just shot down and Russian tanks were seen being slipped across the border and given to the 'rebels' there. But that crisis is over because the media has lost interest.
In Iraq there's a new crisis with bizarre scenarios that so defy imagination that nobody could have seen them coming except the Long War Journal. Sunni jihadists, who've been part of the 'rebels' fighting Assad and Iran in Syria with our de facto help, have suddenly hacked and chopped their way towards Baghdad chasing a Shiite-heavy army shedding its uniforms, guns, tanks and perhaps even Stinger missiles on their way south. They are being helped by some of Cheney's dead-enders we eliminated back in 2003. Speaking of Assad, he's now launching air strikes in.... Iraq, targeting the terrorists we're helping in Syria to target him. This is blow back on steroids.
What to do? Well, whenever there's a crisis this administration immediately sends out the young smiling faces to tell us everything is fine and that we're giving peace a chance, usually with a fancy diplomatic meeting in a snazzy hotel in Geneva complete with warm croissants and Dom Perignon 56--vegan choices available. As to those staff seen leaving our embassy at Fort Baghdad, they are only going on sight-seeing trips around the region and will be replaced by other 'staff', sometimes known as US Marines.
But they are not technically boots on the ground because the embassy is our ground and besides, Iraq was a dumb war and Bush's mistake will never be erased from history even if Hillary and Kerry pretend they never voted for it. And there's no military solution for this or any problem on earth, that is, unless we lose a military engagement to the bad guys, at which point Bush is right over there, throw a shoe at him.
There must be somewhere to turn for help. Why yes, eastward, to the people yelling "Death to America!" When the Ayatollahs start looking friendly enough to qualify as the enemy of our enemy we're in trouble. What next, Mookie al-Sadr in front of the embassy throwing flowers and waving the American flag welcoming us back? Sheer madness.
Go west, young man. Except when you go west you'll see the Palestinians have formed a 'technocratic' unity government that includes HAMAS but doesn't include them because that would be illegal as America designates them as terrorists and we don't deal with terrorists (until we do, at which point the mainstream media will show up to lecture us on the nuances) so we couldn't technically talk to the new government, wink, wink, nod, nod.
Meanwhile the Israelis are busy sweeping up the usual suspects all over the Holy Land after the kidnapping of three teenagers, including one with American citizenship. Word is Obama has already agreed to give up KSM and the Blind Shiekh in return for the teen as soon as he finds out which terrorist organization has them. After all, those guys are old and washed up like Bill Ayers.
Further south the American Army captured Joseph Kony in Africa! Wait, sorry, there was a terrorist attack in Kenya where ali-Shabbob killed about 50 guys committing the crime of watching soccer and failing an Islam quiz.
Back around to the east the Pakistanis are opening a can on the Taliban after their recent attacks on Karachi. Guess they couldn't find anyone in Qatar to watch over them. Even further east they still haven't found MH370. The way things are going it won't be surprising to hear it's flying AWACs missions for the Chinese Uighurs.
Lost in the shuffle of all this "AQ on the run" news was that the government seemed to know pretty quick that AQ factions were taking credit for Benghazi because they were announcing it over captured State Department cell phones. It's all phony don't cha know.
Closer to home the wave of illegal alien children being shipped north to run cover for an influx of sex workers across the secure Mexican border continues with no end in sight. So let's do comprehensive immigration amnesty and punish those enemies! Anyone who says otherwise hates children.
And good Lord, the chaos even extends to Washington, DC of all places. The IRS just notified Congress that it cannot even handle rudimentary data storage because apparently their Blue Wave email system running on Windows 3.1 failed causing the 20meg hard drive to freeze up, according to the WaPo. No word on whether they will continue to be responsible for Obamacare compliance. Maybe they can get some XP systems in there--evidently they are pretty cheap right now. Anyway, this is serious, perhaps criminal, even if there's not a smidgen of official corruption. At least one ex-reporter has asked real questions about the emails but she's likely 'one of them'.
Whew. So yeah, playing golf is certainly a better choice than keeping focused on all this ticky tack stuff, especially when there are important things like a war on women to be fought and climate change deniers to be denied. That is, unless the law-breaker guy is correct.
[Ed- Not trying to be insensitive. Snark is the only way for some of us to process this insanity.]

Hollywood Spree Killer
Yet another senseless loss of life thanks to another young underdeveloped male spree killer.
The perpetrator, Elliot Rodger, is the son of filmmaker Peter Rodger. The elder Rodger is being linked to the "Hunger Games" series but he also recently made a film about God, going around the world challenging people to tell him the meaning of God, playing some moral equivalency games between Bush 43 and the 9/11 bombers, then later telling humanist Eldon Taylor in an interview:
For instance, readers of his manifesto will not doubt come away hearing what they want in certain areas. Those opposed to violent movies and video games will point to his blaming high-speed internet and an XBox for taking away his social life, which made him an empty shell. Obviously the gamers won't like that. That he used the internet not for good, but as a tool to research and plan his crime will disappoint internet freedom advocates but provide fodder for those who think the net is too open. He even used the term "War on Women" in his manifesto, capitalizing it, as if a reality play off the political meme of the same name, maybe a sarcastic message.
His description of the police 'welfare check' intervention and how he nervously fooled them reads like a how-to for future interventions in some kind of half-hearted advocacy for a bigger police state. In other words, "whew, had they just searched my room and found the guns and manuscripts it would have been ov er" kind of thing, which some will use to advocate for searches of people suspected of being violent. Others will see a rational-thinking person smart enough to fool the police and certainly smart enough to fool the gun dealers without a police record or history of mental illness.
He also made it a point to stress that his day of retribution would not just be guns and ammo, but knives and hammers and other sharp weapons, and even automobiles used as weapons, almost as if answering the gun control advocates before they started. A kind of "evil will be done, regardless" sentiment.
In his 'attack plan', which reads more like a blog post, he mentions his intention to avoid responsibility at the end by not only killing himself with two handguns, but swallowing a bunch of Vicoden and Xanax along with an ample amount of 'hard liquor' to dull the pain. So he was either prescribed such pills or getting them somewhere. In other words, therapy won't work.
Don't know what it is, but something seems weird about this event. It could just be the harsh spectacle of the cold, calculating, confused and twisted mind of a young delayed adolescent living in a privileged bubble with a destabilized family life (divorce, step mother, etc) with a propensity for violence enabled by the entertainment field in which his father made a living. The TV shrinks will no doubt have it figured out soon.
Maybe the strangeness comes from the fact he's the educated son of a filmmaker so his writing is different than other crazed killers. But it brings up the biggest question of all--are people sometimes just overtaken by evil alone? Does calling them 'mentally ill' make everyone else feel better? Along those lines, are evil people who don't believe in God nor a final judgment more likely to go out in a blaze of violence if they have no fear of eternal damnation?
MORE 5/26/14
A few more items to ponder. Having read most of the 'manifesto', which was more a life history/personal eulogy, it's clear this kid was giving off warning signs all along. It's likely he suffered from Narcissistic Personality Disorder, which prevented him from feeling empathy for anyone else but himself, which caused him to externalize his failures and fears on other people instead of himself. This seems to be a trait more seen with males than females. His visions of grandeur eventually consumed his biography and allowed him to justify in his mind the death and horror he was going to produce. Interestingly, he fought with himself over it in the narrative, 'hoping' to avoid it. But his hopes were centered around getting instantly rich, which is why he became a compulsive lottery player.
His family did try to intercede. In fairness, nobody really thinks their own flesh and blood could be capable of doing such horrible things. But he was taken to several therapists/life coaches/counselors/psychologists and psychiatrists, without much effect. As he fooled the police a few weeks before the massacre, he likely fooled the shrinks in the same manner.
Reading the biography is like a form of torture itself, but it's interesting to note what he DID NOT mention. He didn't mention anything about external events in the country causing him any grief. Nothing was mentioned about 9/11 to any significance, despite his mother and step-mother coming from Islamic countries and despite him traveling to both countries several times. This could be an indication of the self-centered bubble he was living in, whether created by his family or himself. He mentioned almost nothing of politics other than an offhand quote about the cool kids not understanding his politics. As Powerline and others have pointed out, he 'liked' former Air America/MSNBC host Cenk Ugyur on his Facebook page. But I'm reluctant to assign a political motive or cast aspersions on liberals/Democrats based on the actions of a crazed person who was all about himself.
Another odd thing is his lack of any mention of the hereafter. As he was building up towards his 'Day of Retribution' he offhandedly mentioned his fear of death, but never made any comments on what he might experience in that realm. Perhaps he dismissed any thinking about an afterlife to rationalize his act but it's clear from his story he was not brought up to have any religious beliefs whatsoever. Unless he was leaving that chapter out on purpose. He certainly didn't express any fear of 'retribution' in hereafter, which is similar to Islamic suicide bombers rationalizing that Allah would favor them for killing innocents, even rewarding them with heavenly sex. Many are what can be called losers with women, which is no doubt part of the appeal (along with giving them an excuse for their earthly failures).
He made no connection to that kind of sexual justice in any worlds beyond, but it's an interesting parallel nonetheless. Surely his mother and stepmother had some opinion of Islam and passed it along during his upbringing, whether good or bad, especially after 9/11 and the Iraq war, but such is speculation. Many Islamic fundamentalist males have a similar mindset when it comes to the power of women, which led early leaders of the faith to invent burkas and other rules that reduced sex appeal, so who knows what he was exposed to as to that philosophy. It certainly appears he committed the act out of selfishness and not religion.
Finally, the gun control thing. On the surface it does seem strange that such a nut could buy three handguns. The facts say he was in control of his madness when it counted, such as buying the weapons and dealing with the police welfare check, and that's what makes this such a vexing problem. Nobody, not the NRA or Sarah Palin or Ted Nugent or the late Charlton Heston would be in favor of his maniac getting access to guns, but the 'solution' might be worse than the problem, ie. having government psychiatric doctors determining who gets to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights and who doesn't. So here we are.

We are primitive organisms on a big rock in a scary vacuum, driven by fear and desperately trying to find something to hold onto. The son expressed a similar, albeit more grisly view in the bizarre evidence springing forth about his background. The stuff on YouTube and in his writings is certainly chilling beyond belief, but there's almost a weird quality about it that reads more like a screenplay for the next slasher movie on the Chiller channel. Most of the manifestos written by crazy people tend to be rambling streams of consciousness, often poorly written without attention to grammar, but his stuff doesn't read that way. He also hit on some hot button issues, inadvertently perhaps, or not.
For instance, readers of his manifesto will not doubt come away hearing what they want in certain areas. Those opposed to violent movies and video games will point to his blaming high-speed internet and an XBox for taking away his social life, which made him an empty shell. Targeting the Hate and Denial, 2014
Yeah, it's not man bites dog..
Just another day in the non-Fox media. But it's like a sport pointing things out. For instance, is there any guess as to the identity of these brave patriots standing up to the Republicans haters and deniers? Gasp--Michelle Obama, Bill Nye the science guy, and Eric Holder. Conservatives--do you really think these same people will cover any Obama scandal fairly?
Not to be outdone, a sub-link within the article pointed to more commencement wisdom from the likes of Puff-Daddy, Tiger Woods' ex, and Joe Biden. They also liked astronaut Rick Mastracchio's speech, so much so they placed at the very end of page 2 in their report. Later in the morning their scrolling top page banner headline invited visitors to watch Maddy Albright's commencement speech, live. And a video on their page showed clips of ABC's (and former Clinton guy) George Stephanpoulis' address.
Not available for review: Condi Rice and Ayaan Hirsi Ali. These women of color were denied speaking engagements (and in Ali's case, an honorary degree) at prestigious universities due to hounding from the tolerant and diverse left on their campuses, including some professors.
Ali, an atheist, uses more than a hashtag to describe the embedded discrimination against women in some Islamic countries, having lived it herself, but apparently too graphically for some on the left. And Rice is, well, a Nazi or something. Neither woman will officially be called victims of the war on woman and neither can claim discrimination due to race. They are simply graduates of the unprotected class of the United States of America in 2014.
But perhaps the oddest duck of the season is former New York Times editor Jill Abramson. She was also to receive an honorary degree from Brandeis, but backed out after the brouhaha. All she did was claim pay discrimination at the Times--right up Obama's rhetorical alley--but wound up being fired and called a bitch and worse by the whisper campaigners. So a liberal Jewish woman may now find herself out of the protected class because she dared to speak out against the house organ of liberalism. If it had been Fox News she'd have received a ticker tape parade down Madison Avenue and bold coverage on ABC News.
BANNER DAY FOR ABC 5/18/14
Wow, ABC outdid themselves. Underneath a headline feature on Karl Rove calling for Hillary to 'cough up' her medical records--but without repeating Bill Clinton's admission that Hillary was on the shelf for 6 months recovering from a severe concussion that the State Dept made sound like a little bump on the head (in a story written by a person named "Dukakis"), they went for broke:

Although the scientists concede that there are exceptions, “the really well-to-do have lost a little of their moral character,” psychologist Dacher Keltner, coauthor of a paper published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, said in a telephone interview.
Keltner, who led the research along with fellow psychologist Paul K. Piff, said his inbox has been jammed with feedback, mostly from working class citizens who say “it’s about time” someone paid attention to this problem. “People are just feeling there’s an imbalance in our culture,” he said. They actually pass this advocacy off as 'news'? That it happens to blend in nicely with the administration's mid-term political strategy is of course totally coincidental. But someone should ask ABC what we should do with those unethical scoundrels George Soros, Bill Gates, and Warren Buffet. Wait what? They are the good rich? Never mind. Onward with pitchforks to the Koch Brothers' house!

Into Africa
First of all, happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. Not sure they celebrate the day in Nigeria, but if so it's got to be even more gut-wrenching under the circumstances, something we in America can't exactly relate to. Other than 9/11 and the few domestic attacks we've had over the years most can't relate to a religious terrorist group kidnapping girls from a school to sell them off to thugs or worse. If asked on the street who would do such a thing in America, many might say Christians or the GOP.
But none of this should be a particularly stunning outrage because by now everyone should understand the enemy. But to understand an enemy one must first understand there is an enemy.
Liberal politicians in America have tried their hardest over the last two decades to pretend these kinds of things aren't so important, which allows them to focus on domestic agendas or social justice. Terrorism is the result of global poverty, ie, white greed or western meddling, therefore the help should go to the perpetrators themselves...
Speaking of Benghazi, the Dems say it's outrageous to consider any further discovery over that phony scandal, despite many questions and emails still remaining. The modern truth-loving left has declared another debate over, time for the flat-earthers to move on and shut up.
Which is strange, considering that former committee chair and soon to be ex-congressman Mike Rogers is a curious character in all of this. Doesn't Nancy Pelosi want to know more about why he was running an investigation that had a tangential tie to his wife? Wouldn't her colleagues like to know whether Boehner actually knows more about what was going on than advertised or whether he might be stringing his Tea Party caucus members along with perhaps the final goal of a public failure? Sound outrageous? Yeah, so was this. So why wouldn't the left be stoked? Maybe it's because they know we would find out Benghazi was an example of repeating past failures of the Balkans.
Meanwhile, there are no hashtags for the fallen Americans of Benghazi or Algeria (the forgotten attack). And there won't be, because they were mainly white guys involved in the military industrial complex/national security apparatus/Big oil and gas. The president doesn't personally take up those causes because there's no political upside to it. Black schoolgirls in poverty-ridden Nigeria make for much better posters, even if they might perhaps inadvertently remind certain pinheads about the barbarity we still face, or inadvertently become fodder for increasing the ole military industrial complex.
But maybe the hashtags will do some good in the long run. Maybe they will remind the youngsters of exactly who the real terrorists are and what they want.

Similarly, in his book Who killed Daniel Pearl? Bernard-Henri Levi admits that the presence of Jihadists was “an open secret” for the intellectuals, humanists and journalists who covered the Balkan wars and that it was a secret they took care to keep from the public.
Why? Because they urged Western intervention and if the public knew the truth it would object to enhancing the Jihadists power and agenda. Indeed, I suspect that Clarke along with the rest of the Clinton administration similarly believed that their anti-terrorist strategy would not withstand public scrutiny.Bush changed the paradigm, but Obama changed it back---terrorism is best handled as a law enforcement action--like Benghazi, to be handled by a bunch of guys in white shirts and thin black ties. And now, hashtags.

Hey CNN, Stick to the Plane
Don't accuse CNN of ignoring other stories, like domestic terrorism, while saturating
their airwaves with MH370 breaking news. Case in point, their go-to lefty terror expert Peter Bergen beclowns himself by backing junk science:
But here at Fore Left we believe in science and data. So let's not, as the president might say, jump to any conclusions. The New America Foundation think tank, which provided the study via Bergen, and features CNN's Fareed Zakaria and Google's Eric Schmidt as board members, should be a red flag right off the bat. But OK, how did they come to their numbers? Well, here's how they explain in the 'methodology' section:
If you really insist on seeing some actual data to be sure they're putting this out as propaganda to help Obama defeat the Tea Party in November, look at their list of attacks and you'll see it right there, in black and white, what they consider a "right wing" attacker--confirmed left wing kook Joseph Stack, who flew his plane into the IRS building in Austin, TX, killing a federal worker. The guy who quoted Marx in his manifesto.
If you absolutely insist on seeing their list of left wing attackers, good luck. It's not easily findable on the site. But somehow, as explained in the CNN story, they couldn't find a single example of a left wing attack that killed someone.
Such as, oh, the Obama supporter professor in Huntsville, Alabama who killed three of her colleagues at a board meeting rampage. Not listed.
That's just two, there are many more, especially if one considers the mass shootings in Colorado, Washington Navy Ship Yard, and Newtown, CT, as part of the body count, since all of those perpetrators leaned further left than right if they leaned any direction. Or, we could just say all of the attacks since 9/11 have been pulled off by nuts, including the jihadists, but many serious jihadist attacks that could have killed hundreds or more were stopped. But that doesn't fit the narrative.
And that's not to say there aren't far right wingers who cross the rubicon into violence...they most certainly exist and the government and the public should not pretend otherwise. But researchers and so-called experts should also not pretend when it comes to reality or when making such incendiary charges. Bergen's long been a lefty hack, but Steve Coll of the NAF should be ashamed. CNN should be most ashamed since they published it. They need to focus back on the open Indian Ocean, a porpoise may pop up for a breaking news update.
Funny though, even the biased New America Foundation included Major Hasan's rampage at Ft. Hood as as example of Islamic jihad terrorism, unlike the Obama administration.
According to a count by the New America Foundation, right wing extremists have killed 34 people in the United States for political reasons since 9/11. (The total includes the latest shootings in Kansas, which are being classified as a hate crime). "Since 9/11 extremists affiliated with a variety of far-right wing ideologies...have killed more people in the United States than have extremists motivated by al Qaeda's ideology."
By contrast, terrorists motivated by al Qaeda's ideology have killed 23 people in the United States since 9/11. (Although a variety of left wing militants and environmental extremists have carried out violent attacks for political reasons against property and individuals since 9/11, none have been linked to a lethal attack, according to research by the New America Foundation.)Bold and shocking! Right wing terrorists lead the pack, lefty crazies haven't killed anyone, so nothing to worry about. Those damned tea baggers need to be stopped!
The dataset also includes individuals inspired by right wing, left wing, and other non-Jihadist political ideologies, who have been indicted for terrorism related crimes. The data on non-Jihadist extremists is less developed than the data on Jihadist extremists but where available it is included to provide a comparison across ideologies. The dataset relies mainly upon court documents, wire service reports, and local news reports as sources. In other words, the grad students involved based a lot of their conclusions on selected stories from the mainstream media. Maybe even stories by CNN's Fareed Zakaria or Peter Bergen! Not very scientific.

Selective Memory or Utter Stupidity?
The title statement is all one can glean from watching this clip of Nancy Pelosi talking to Candy it was an act of terror Mitt! Crowley about the soon to be declassified Senate report on CIA 'torture'..
Here's the same Nancy Pelosi, according to various CIA entities, when briefed about 'the program' back in 2002:
Here's the same Nancy Pelosi, according to various CIA entities, when briefed about 'the program' back in 2002:
Among the techniques described, said two officials present, was waterboarding, a practice that years later would be condemned as torture by Democrats and some Republicans on Capitol Hill. But on that day, no objections were raised. Instead, at least two lawmakers in the room asked the CIA to push harder, two U.S. officials said.
"The briefer was specifically asked if the methods were tough enough," said a U.S. official who witnessed the exchange.Crowley is good at reminding people of facts--why didn't she remind Ms Pelosi of the above bolded item during her interview? Pelosi had just praised the CIA so she would have been forced to call certain past members of that same organization "liars" (again), which if nothing else would have been compelling TV.

ABC animates the Universe
Wow, hard to believe somebody could find symbolism in the sinkhole that swallowed the Corvettes in Kentucky and use it to condemn America for global warming, excessive capitalism and political malaise. Then again, it's coming from one of our beloved mainstream media deep thinkers...
But it's good they did because it illustrates the kind of twits we have reporting our daily news. Dowd is probably not alone in believing a sinkhole in Kentucky somehow has unique universal symbolism because it swallowed some really cool inventions of American ingenuity (which have provided many people great lives through decent jobs over the years) as opposed to say a sinkhole opening up in Florida and swallowing a man sleeping in bed, who was never found.
No, this event provided the perfect jump off to bash Americans as excessive ignoramuses who ignore science (what "Mother Earth", another inanimate object, is trying to tell us) while the writer himself ignores the science that might actually explain why the museum suffered the cave-in. Caves. Could it perhaps be the geology of the region (see page 8), which includes the fabulous "Mammoth Cave"?
Or could it be due to the harsh winter, which due to the frequent freezing/thawing of the ground has brought the term "frost quakes" into the lexicon?
Perhaps the "Universe" is only trying to tell developers to consider geology a bit more in planning. Or perhaps the screaming message is really that 'stuff happens'. But in the end it's always easier to blame capitalism. A lot easier for the rubes to believe than a soulless scientific explanation.
If we just listen to the universe and see things a little more clearly we might realize all of us may need to adjust our life to be more in sync with the Earth. That maybe respect and compassion for each other and the world is what has been lost. And that a simpler humbler way of living and leading is what we are being asked to do.
Actually the planet has gotten to the point where it is no longer asking, but demanding. It seems until we learn that lesson and let it sink in, sink holes will continue to swallow up the old models whether that is classic corvettes or outdated institutions. I am not arguing we give up our cars, but possibly if we take our foot off the gas of life, we might see what Mother Earth is trying to tell us.First off, had Dowd used "God" instead of animating in-animate matter his editors probably wouldn't have allowed the story in print. A "message from God" from our PC media is only allowable when discussing movies about Chicago musician/comedians or in stories about rebel flag waving rednecks, or stories about Bush.

A Nation of Laws?
....news from California..
Caught a little bit of the Limbaugh program while driving around today, wherein he mentioned this story in context with Obama flaunting US law as to Obamacare and immigration (which pegs the irony meter in this instance) along with Peyton Manning's passing record story. The Manning pass was clearly a lateral but they are going to let it stand for obvious political reasons even though Manning might have come out in the second half and been injured on the first play without getting the record (Manning himself knows it was a lateral and should have spoken up). The same league will allow the Steelers to miss the playoffs on a blown call.
All of these things point towards a future where the rule of law that has held America together for over two centuries--and is partly why illegal immigrants flock to our shores--will become so watered down as to become virtually meaningless. And here the networks seem shocked that polls show that Americans have less and less confidence in their government going into 2014. They are helping produce it.
The California Supreme Court granted a law license on Thursday to a man living in the United States illegally who graduated from law school and passed the state bar exam. The decision means Sergio Garcia can begin practicing law despite his immigration status. ...
Garcia arrived in the U.S. illegally 20 years ago to pick almonds with his father and worked at a grocery store and in the fields while attending school.Oddly, the US Government was a party to the case, arguing against allowing Mr. Garcia to be state certified. This sets up an interesting scenario for 2014. Will the administration, while promoting visions of a comprehensive illegal immigration reform bill, take Jerry Moonbeam Brown back to court for flaunting US law and the rule of law in general by allowing this abomination to stand? After all, they sued Arizona after that state passed the ID bill they felt was improper.

It's the Credibility, Stupid
Jay Carney is in a near melt-down trying to defend the indefensible on the health care lies but such displays can be quite useful in determining just who is controlling the levers of power in this country. And the verdict ain't good..“I know it’s spoken in tones of dramatic revelation,” Carney continued, “but it was a known fact at the time. We never pretended otherwise.” “But Jay,” Karl began. “That’d be that tone I was talking about,” Carney cracked.Carney cannot take criticism. It's bizarre to watch coming from a spokesman for the United States government. But he really doesn't expect criticism from anyone except the Fox News reporter, whom he often ridicules as a hack. After yesterday's dustup ABC sent a new reporter and Carney repeated his talking points with a bit more tact, but Karl's colleagues took his place, peppering the bespectacled befuddler with question after question about whether the president needs to address the peeps over his iron-clad guarantee about insurance in the 0-care era, which some of them cannot keep, but Carney (like the president) just kept doubling-down. His screaming message is basically "don't worry about yesterday, the law is gonna be so goooood".
But is that really what he wants to tell the public, that it's OK to lie for the cause so long as the cause is gonna be awesome in the long run, a sort of official ends justify means policy? From the sunshine administration? Or is this all just words again?

Obama wins Nobel Prize Again
Well, they technically gave it to the OPCW, a group that goes around destroying chemical weapons. But that's like giving it to the IAEA or the UN or even the United States military. Which would of course be ridiculous.
No the award was given to Obama because Putin pulled his ass out of the fire and drummed up a phony deal for Assad to get rid of his chem-weapons to avert a military strike that wasn't going to happen. Clearly they couldn't give it to Putin or Assad and besides, they believe Obama created the peace.
If you're not convinced just watch the State Department's daily briefing today, where the spokeswoman spent the first few minutes reading a prepared statement congratulating them, including the following:

The award of the Nobel Peace Prize today to the OPCW no doubt reflects the critical role that they are playing in the Syrian CW crisis. As people know, in March of this year, the OPCW was called upon by the UN Secretary General to support a UN investigation into allegations of CW use in Syria.
A UN team staffed by OPCW chemical weapons experts investigated the August 21st attack and confirmed utilizing OPCW-designated laboratories that sarin was used to kill over a thousand Syrians.Obama is awesome! Of course they couldn't give it to Malala because that would be a direct smack in the face of the Taliban and Islamic barbarians worldwide, which would have brought unwanted attention to their war against human rights and women's rights and something like that might produce a fatwa. So giving it to Obama was the safe play.
