Homeland Security--Mississippi style

Just a short drive down I-55 from here lies Mississippi Congressional District 2. Aside from vast expanses of delta farmland the district also includes the Tunica casino district. It's represented by a man named Bennie Thompson, who now finds himself in line to become chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee when the Pelosicrats take over in January.

What does Bennie think about law breakers who sneak across the border, steal (or make up) Social Security numbers, then get jobs? Well, apparently:
Mr. Thompson warned the largest uniform supplier in the U.S. that it could be charged with "illegal activities in violation of state and federal law" for obeying a Department of Homeland Security regulation.
Way to go, Bennie. Ignore the fact it's illegal to hire illegals but go out of your way to threaten a company should they dare follow a government directive to ensure legality. The Captain also ironically pointed out that Cintas is a large supplier of uniforms to the Federal government. Welcome to the new direction--same as the old one, with different players.

BTW, I'm using this new filing system for posts, just because it's new. This one obviously belongs under the immigration category, but probably just as much under insanity.
