Global Warming station of the week

The global warming Nazis are pretty effective at crushing scientific dissent so this could be risky, but what the hey. I give to you our station of the week, specifically Nashville, Tennessee, Al Gore's hometown. See if you can spot a trend.

For climate zealots who might have stumbled onto this site after seeing the "left" in this blog's title and thinking it was sympathetic, don't go ballistic. Very few intelligent people, or me, deny there is warming. But more than a few disagree on the causative forcing of the warming. Policy-makers worth their salt shouldn't be in a rush to hand over our economy to 3rd World income-redistributors based on something we essentially cannot stop (CO2 half-life is over 80 years and we don't know the exact contribution of the sun or other galactic effects). But for some reason this debate is populated with unhinged partisan hacks who give new meaning to the term "political science":
Ben Stewart of Greenpeace said: "The AEI is more than just a thinktank, it functions as the Bush administration's intellectual Cosa Nostra
Personally, I'm too insignificant to be offered buckets of cash by triple chinned oil execs or Bush's rumored Crawford goon squad (overseen by the "Godfather", Bush 41, I hear) but the very fact I can make such a joke attests to the successful tactics employed by 'our way or the highway' consensus bullies found in this debate, some of whom wouldn't know an isobar from a sushi bar.

MORE 2/4/07

Is the AEI buying climate scientists? That's what the Guardian story implied, but the paper didn't bother to interview AEI staff members themselves. So once again, providing balance was left to bloggers:
AEI President Christopher DeMuth took great exception to the Guardian story, and circulated the following memo to AEI staff.
The hypocrisy is rampany, since most of the climate scientists involved in the IPCC, while not paid to participate, are funded themselves by grants.
