Obama Chooses Huntsman

CNN is reporting:
President Obama announced Saturday that his choice for U.S. ambassador to China is moderate Republican Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, who expressed some surprise at the appointment.
Should he have been 'surprised'? After all, he must read the papers and talk to his aides, who surely told him of this recent quip:
President Obama’s campaign manager, David Plouffe, tells the U.S. News and World Report that Governor Jon Huntsman makes him, a "wee bit queasy...I think he's really out there speaking a lot of truth about the direction of the party."
I think this calls for at least a small hmmmmm.

So Huntsman must be a left leaning repub. I don't know anything about the guy, but why else would Obama pick him.

I can't imagine Huntsman considers himself a "real contender;" he accepted the appointment.

More than that, as our friend Sunset has pointed out on more than one occasion, Americans have no problem selecting a Muslim for the White House, but remain queezy about Mormons.

Go figger.

I'm glad you brought up the Mormon thing first. If it hurt Mitt, how could it not hurt a RINO Huntsman. Therefore once again the Obama boys were blowing smoke.
