And our flag was still there

The protests don't seem to be causing the promised gridlock. A cursory, non-scientific surf around the internet noted the following:

Los Angeles...Roger Simon reports that the Los Angeles demonstration was peaceful (from his vantage point) and he was moved by the passion displayed for being in America. Little Green Footballs was headlining Teddy Kennedy's patriotic stance on the National Anthem. According to the FAA, weather is the only impediment to air travel right now, as usual.

Back east, Michelle Malkin's lead stories were rather tame. If something outrageous had occurred it would surely be found right there. Instapundit was covering it, but also covering new revelations about why men are living longer. The HuffPo had lumped today's demonstrations into an angry ball with other recent moonbat rallies to form a composite, which only means today's activities had fallen beneath her expectations.

Looking at the mainstreamers, CNN, Fox, WaPo and the NY Times have stories up, but not about panic or desperation or National Guard troops or riots, etc, just chronicling the huge peaceful crowds. The exception seems to be the LA Times, where a headline screams, "Wave of Dissent Grips U.S. Cities". Don't they have a feed from Reuters?

Of the commentators, both CNN's Lou Dobbs and Neil Boortz pointed out the chicken little media and their refusal to call the protestors "illegal aliens" or even "illegal immigrants". They are just generic "immigrants", on par with every single legal immigrant ever to grind through the process. Muy ridiculous.

But I'm shocked, shocked that so many employers/business owners left their illegal, near slave workforce twisting in the breeze. One might think they'd be outraged at proposals to either send the aliens back home or legalize them, seeing as how it would so adversely impact their cost of doing business and all.

Oh, and finally, the illegal organizers need to watch who they associate with. The Cindy Sheehan moonbat wing surely covets their association, but such a merger will only drag them into the nut gutter. They are much better off waving old Glory and bringing along the baby strollers. After all, nobody is going to deport them.
