Choctaw Ridge, Tallahatchie bridge, Tupelo...more references to the Mid South region. By the way, Bobbie Gentry's name was actually Roberta Streeter and she was known as one of the first women of country to write and produce her own material.
On a side note, the Memphis in May celebration is going on this week downtown along the river, and the annual Beale Street Music Festival is happening as this is being typed. Obviously I'm not in attendance because I haven't a life, but here's who I missed.
