The Cheney sunglasses saga

No wonder he spent so much time at an undisclosed location:
What's stirring all the buzz is the reflection in the vice president's dark glasses. Some thought that the reflection looked like a naked woman and, this being Cheney and this being the Internet Age, they immediately shared that thought with the world.
Frankly, I missed the buzz. It must have come from those same jovial buzzards who occasionally wish Cheney a miserable death from a terrorist RPG or roadside bomb, who are now trying to hook him up with a hooker or somesuch. Do they really think the Veep would let a naked woman stand in the way of his fly-fishing? Lord, they're stupider than we thought.

Or if they would allow someone with a camera to shoot it, if there was?

(There's a reason we call them moonbats.)

Except for the white area on the corner of the left lens, it appears to be more of seeing the outline of his eyes and lashes through the sunglasses than a reflection. If indeed it's a naked woman, she's rather deformed and he would probably not be smiling.

It is actually a reflection of him holding a rod and reel. What I find interesting is the mindset of those who would make such a claim; they are perhaps thinking as gutter snipes because that's where they're coming from.

Yep, the hate does run pretty deep from some in the tolerance set. They keep waiting for that one thing that sinks his boat to come along.

The odd thing is, Cheney has never come down hard on gay rights and appears to be fairly libertarian on a lot of social issues. Once again, it's Iraq that drives the boat for a lot of people.

I was out of touch with the news and the web for most of the week. Good thing, maybe. I was spared all the inane speculation about the reflection in Cheney's sunglasses.

Never a dull moment in nutrootville, AOW. As LAS indicated, somebody was there with a camera to record the moment, but I guess that never dawned on them unless they figured the naked chick was taking pics. But of course, that doesn't account for the secret service detail -- hey maybe she was an agent! ;-)
