This is really gonna tick off Usama bin Laden.
My thoughts? No American president should ever bow before another leader no matter what the protocol, even in Japan. Would it look right for any foreign leader to bow before Obama? Can anyone imagine Ronald Reagan or Teddy Roosevelt bowing before anyone, much less an oil sheihk?
This was another gaffe that won't be reported much by the big media and will be defended through infinity by his formerly anti-Saudi leftist supporters. SSDD.
That said, I had no problem with their interactions with Queen Elizabeth. Monarchs are people, too and should not melt if met with a light touch to the shoulder. She probably got tingles anyway.

Miss Manners: "One does not bow or curtsy to a foreign monarch because the gesture symbolizes recognition of her power over her subjects."
Also, one never upends his/her butt to the camera....

I think there's a difference between this and Bush's hand-holding, but neither is very palatable. Obama is supposed to be the leader of the far left, who stayed on Bush's case for being a poodle to the Kingdom yet somehow this is just decorum. OK.
Y'know, I really hoped I'd be able to avoid derangement syndrome with this president but when the POTUS himself attacks Bush in every stinkin' speech it's hard to resist.
