Selective Outrage

From the Times..

The Obama administration said Friday that it would appeal a district court ruling that granted some military prisoners in Afghanistan the right to file lawsuits seeking their release.

From the other Times..
The CIA's secret prisons are being shuttered. Harsh interrogation techniques are off-limits. And Guantanamo Bay will eventually go back to being a wind-swept naval base on the southeastern corner of Cuba.

But even while dismantling these programs, President Obama left intact an equally controversial counter-terrorism tool.

Now, from the Washington Post..

Asked whether Obama's policies had increased the chances of a terrorist attack or not, 26 percent said they had while 72 percent said they had not.

The WaPo Fix Guy predicted the CNN poll would draw a huge amount of attention from the reality-base, but apparently reality begs to differ. As of supper time the Fire Dogs were foaming about tea...
With only seventy-two hours or so before America gets teabagged by conservatives the teabagggers are getting all hard-nippled with excitement as their big day approaches. After Wednesday, NOTHING IN AMERICA WILL EVER BE THE SAME AGAIN
And the Huffpuffers were trumpeting the end of the depression..
Goldman Sachs, in another sign that banks may be turning around, beat Wall Street's earnings expectations as it reported a profit of $1.66 billion for the first three months of this year.
Perhaps the reality of Obama's anti-terror tact serves to remind the liberty-lovin' lefties more of his string of broken campaign promises while strongly suggesting all those Presidential Daily Briefings Bush worried over were not actually created in the basement of some neocon think tank after all.

So the Constitution can wait--right now there's a revolution to tamp down and make fun of.

Making fun of it is all they can do. That attitude proves that they no longer work for us. Make fun of what you cannot fight with logic and truth. Go ahead laugh at the tea partiers, a revolution is coming and they are helpless to stop it.

Thing is, many of them don't even understand the issue. They say "taxes are essential for all the services that protect us, etc, etc", as if the right is against taxes. Only the nuttiest of wing nutcakes is saying there should be ZERO taxation (aside from Mustang)--most of us are saying the current levels are way too high based on return for our money and the deficits our children will pay.

Obama got elected largely on subterfuge. He used the economic downturn to expand government, trying to pull the wool by using stimulus and recovery instead of bigger govt and more spending.

If dissent is truly patriotic and the left is as hot for the Constitution as they've claimed over these past 8 years they should be APPLAUDING the tea parties as the bastion of free speech they are, not deriding them.
