The New Racists

From the same folks who tried to stop regulation of Fannie/Freddie, we get this:
"It was quite a moment to behold," Lee said, recalling her moments with Castro.

“It was almost like listening to an old friend,” said Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Il.), adding that he found Castro’s home to be modest and Castro’s wife to be particularly hospitable.
What next, breaking out in song? "Springtime, for Castro, and Communism" might be catchy. Here's Califormerly Rep Laura Richardson in full gush:
Richardson said Castro knew her name and district. "He looked right into my eyes and he said, 'How can we help? How can we help President Obama?'"
Help? How about announcing free elections in return for lifting the travel ban and an apology to all the people who've died in the Atlantic trying to escape his brutal dictatorship? Think this can possibly be made up? The CBC delegation later denied one important account from the meeting, according to Castro himself:
In a statement following the meeting today, Castro said that the delegation had expressed to him that a segment of American society “continues to be racist,” and is at least partly to blame for the travel restrictions.
Fidel lie? Surely not! After all, his wife is so nice and his home is modest, not like those evil AIG executives. A simple mistranslation, probably.

Doesn't it just make your stomach turn to see the "leadership" gushing over a communist dictator?

Most definitely. But this is highly illuminating. I really had no idea how radical some of these people really were.

Help? How about announcing free elections...

I don't think Castro can help us with our elections problems, AC. For that, we need to turn to ACORN, but I do think he would appreciate the sentiments.

Well, he's there to help. Maybe he can send Elian Gonzales back up as an envoy. He must be of age by now.
