What's a Terminator to do?

Arnold is finding out that politics ain't so easy. His decision on whether the grant clemency to Crips gang founder Tookie Williams looms Monday, and the locals are getting restless. A refusal surely brings into play the threat of a huge racial backlash and perhaps even blood in the streets.

Of course if he backs down and grants the stay, it'll be seen as capitulation to the gang crowd and he'll be accused of being the girly-man. The anti-gang/rule of law crowd will scream about the bad message being sent, after the man's appeals were all repeatedly rejected by the court system.

I'm sure he's being duly advised by his strategists on the political fallout. In the end though, it's largely a gut call. You make the most fair and honest decision possible, strap on the helmet and weather the storm.

That storm begins Monday, and we're gonna find out what Mr. Universe is made of.
