Hillary Clinton, Racist

The AP says Palin might be racist for suggesting Obama was wrong to hang with terrorists. Well..

CNN's crack fight the smears team is also working overtime this weekend, helping the campaign paint Palin as a swift boater (and smearing decorated Vietnam veterans who were exercising their free speech) for speaking out against Obama's long relationship with a guy who still hasn't repented from his previous life, including statements like "kill all the rich people".

Again, it's not about Obama supporting terrorist bombings in the late 60s when he was 8. It's about Obama's judgment...how he views rich versus poor...how he views the role of government and whether it mirrors Ayers' view in any way...and how he views America when dealing with world leaders. That's all.

I touched on Ayers today, also. AOW said the other day that the "Teflon Don" has nothing on Obama.

No matter how "obscure" Obama wants us to think his relationship with Ayers is ... we sure ought to be concerned about his alliances, and particularly with his association with the anarchist Alinsky.

We are living in interesting times.

What's bizarre is Hillary Clinton herself was an acolyte of Alinsky.

I hear the GOP is going after Obama's donors now. More fodder for the fight the smears, er I mean mainstream media guys.

"Palling around with terrorists" is at best a gross exaggeration.

Racist? I don't know.

A lie? You betcha, Sarah.

Falsely tying Obama to someone he hasn't spoken to in years - and hardly knows - is'nt that surprising coming from a candidate with a recurring "truth" problem.

After the "lie to nowhere" and Palin's repeated problems with the truth ("I was for the troopergate investigation before I was against it"), smearing an opponent is pretty much all that's left.

You're right; these are interesting times. Apparently desperate times too - at least for one campaign.

Put the shoe on the other foot, tc. The left went crazy over McCain's endorsement from Hagee, even though McCain is about as religious as a dry branch. If McCain had some past association with a guy who had once bombed an abortion clinic--even if he hadn't spoken to him in years--the left would be making much hay with it.

Matter of fact, McCain probably wouldn't have gotten the nomination. That's the double standard at work here.

So far Palin has said nothing that's a lie. He kicked off his career in Ayers' living room. That's fact, no matter how sensitive some folks are about it.

Come on you can't seriously believe that bimbo or anything she has to say, can you? Can the american soldiers really say they want this dumb bitch to lead the nation if McCain gets elected and dies off?

A.C. McCloud said...

So let's get it straight. Bush was a coward and chickenhawk for going to war against Iraq because he dodged Vietnam in the TANG. Palin is a "dumb bitch" who the soldiers wouldn't want leading them even though she has a son in Iraq. Have I got that straight, including the sexism and complete lack of class and dignity?

Your comment should have been trashed anonymous, but I want people to see raw stupidity and bias in pure form.

All this is, is another attempt by the right to get scared people on their side by mentioning the word "terrorists." Bush has been doing it for seven years, and it still works today. In doubt? Begin the smear campaign, and mention the word "terrorist." It gets the Americans scared and ready to be molded like putty every time.

Yes it is the school of thought that Saul Alinsky and others share with Obama that is of great concern.

Thompson and Palin, that would have been a team wouldn't it? Thompson was such a washout in the primary season though. If he had shown half the energy that he used in the convention speech, perhaps he would have won.

"Palling" around with the terrorists, as in "PAListinian" campaign funds???

It's valuable to read the NY Times article objectively. My concern is that everyone in Chicago knew Ayers was a terrorist who was acquitted due to wire-tapping technicalities. Barack attended a coffee fundraiser that Ayers hosted for him:

"Their paths have crossed sporadically since then, at a coffee Mr. Ayers hosted for Mr. Obama’s first run for office.."

Who do you go to when you are first starting out in a new business? I went to people who know me the best. The reasonable question seems to be: was it bad judgment? Did he agree with Ayers intellectual activist thoughts? Or did was Barack, as an activist black man fighting for justice in Chicago projects, identify with Ayers anti-establishment hate? And most importantly, is Senator Obama telling us what we want to hear so he can get elected? Does he believe the prosperous should be punished?

"In an article that by chance was published on Sept. 11, 2001, The New York Times wrote about Mr. Ayers and his just-published memoir, “Fugitive Days,” opening with a quotation from the author: “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.""

Alisha, did you check out Bill Ayers' blog site linked in the post? Do you really think Obama was just using this clown to get political power, because that's about the only rational explanation for his association short of "I'm down with your struggle, comrade".

Oh, as to scaring people with terrorism, isn't it Barack saying we've dropped the ball with AQ and need to send more troops into Afghanistan? If Bush is only scaremongering, what is Obama doing?

Good point, Debbie. After I made that remark I remembered that very thing. Hehe. For some reason he still looks better than McCain at this juncture.

My question has always been not what Obama saw in Ayers, but what Ayers saw in Obama.

MEDIA BIAS ROBS AMERICANS OF THE TRUTH
... NOW, AP IS UNFARILY PLAYING THE RACE CARD ...
The media’s continual bias in favor of Obama is not only disgusing, it’s against everything that America, a Free Press, and Freedom of Speech stands for. To suggest that there is no media bias in favor of Obama not only robs Americans of the truth, it insults the intelligence of the American people.
TALK IS CHEAP … CHECK OBAMA’S RECORD !!!
A candidate’s track record, and associations are always a legitimate issue when running for President. Let’s take a look at the qualifications, judgement, and experience of Obama, who is running for President. Obama had 25 years to fulfill the potential he displayed as a rising start at Harvard Law School … and, how did he live up to that potential? … He chose to align himself with anti-American racist, Jeremiah Wright for TWENTY YEARS … along with Ferrahkan, Rezko, Ayers, and others. As a community organizer, he registered thousands of voters in Chicago … then, when he ran for the state legislature, he took away their votes, by disqualifying his opponent (a black woman) on a technicality. As a U.S. Senator, he voted present 160 times … he never called a meeting on the Afghanistan committee he chaired (although he NOW says we must shift all our military from Iraq to Afghanistan). He claimed Foreign Policy experience from a 9 day whirlwind photo op to 6 countries. And, he spent almost half of his tenure neglecting his responsibilities as a U.S. Senator, so he could run for President. Senator McCain served America honorably for 22 years in the military. He proved his love for America, as well as his honor, integrity and character, by refusing early release as a P.O.W., even while being tortured. He served America as a ‘contributing’ U.S. Senator, working across the aisle, for 20 years. If Obama’s Twentyfive year track record shows he lacks judgement, and can’t be trusted, who cares what he says about Health Care and the Economy! What Obama never learned is Character. He simply can’t be trusted … ask Jeremiah Wright, a friend of 20 years, who Obama betrayed for personal ambition … and, you Obama supporters really think he won’t betray you If he gets elected??? If he gets elected, you Obama supporters will be facing a HUGE disillusionment !!!

Religious extremism has been brought into this election recently. As the McCain camp tries to instill fear into the hearts of voters, I tried to think about how a person w/ those religious beliefs might view this. I had a discussion today in regards to what is called “End of Days“ or “Judgement Day“. This brought up an interesting point of view. On September 11th America was attacked by extremists who were backed by Bin Laden. American’s were horrified & stricken with fear. Here we are 7 years later. We are in the midst of a very unusual election, & America has a choice to make. The choice is, does America have the capacity to embrace someone who’s name sounds like something we have feared? Who’s running mate, when put together with his own name comes very close to what we have feared the most. Who’s race has/had been viewed as inferior. A man who’s genetics is a combination of foundations of this country, who’s lineage has been here for hundreds of years. If those people thought of a “judgement day”, should they think of this as one? A test to see if American can get past prejudices & it’s fears. To see through the lies & to embrace a man who encompases so much. If America can embrace this man, would these be the people worthy of being saved? Perhaps this could be a judgement. The question is, is America worthy?

How low can a man sink himself in self pity!!

The day after the VP debate I saw John McCain on a campaign stage gleefully asking the audience, "How did she (my girl!) do yesterday"

I asked this question after my daughter’s first piano recital, and also after her first poem recital, when she was 5 years old.

I felt sadness on how low this man can sink in self esteem.

After all, every American with at least a brain the sign of a peanut could see that the VP ‘Debate’ was not a debate at all. When Sen. Biden answered the questions from the moderator from his vast knowledge and experience, Palin was still working on her notes like an elementary school girl, and, with absolute disrespect to the organizers and the moderator of that debate, and with the arrogance of spoiled child, insisted that she wanted to read through all of her notes. I have watched debates before, at several levels. If graded as a debate, Palin would have got an ‘F’ for that performance, because she did not answer any of the questions from the moderator. In a high school debate tournament, a performance like would have invited an automatic ejection after the answer to the 2nd question!

Big TV Ratings – as a network person has pointed out during the Sunday Political Forum, most of the people watched the VP date as an entertainment, not to support Palin by any means. I watched it to see if that event could put her out of her misery, and for my thinking mind, it did more than enough; but she is still standing and firing away insults after insults to Sen. Obama. If not made under the campaign cover, these insulting lies can invite legal hazards. Apparently John McCain wants to pretend he is above such low-ball tactics, but allowing Palin to do such things like a hired hand does not relieve McCain from the responsibility for such acts. Tactics like this will only lower McCain’s esteem further among independent Americans.

Maybe you do not consider 11 years a long time, but you would have a hard time convincing me they didn't have a conversation at this event.

While we're on the subject of "palling around with terrorists" let's take a close look at an Iran-sponsored, anti-government terrorist who promised all kinds of mayhem... and founded the secessionist party that Todd Palin belonged to.

"My government is my worst enemy. I'm going to fight them with any means at hand."

Joe Vogler - a clear advocate of violence against the US government - was the founder of the Alaskan Independent Part (AIP), the same party that Todd Palin belonged to for seven years.

In 1993, Vogler was going to denounce the United States at a UN meeting - after seeking and receiving sponsorship to do so by Iran - when he was shot by another party member.

Earlier this year, governor Sarah Palin told the AIP publicly that they were "doing great work".

By any objective standard, Palin's ties to the AIP are far stronger than Obama's ties to Ayers, but I mention to illustrate something important.

This is all a crock of shit.

I find Palin's attempts to smear Obama more than a little amusing, but then, Palin/McCain have little to lose - especially since their campaign has nothing left to run on.

It's going to be interesting to see the mental and verbal gymnastics engaged in to free Palin from the AIP association while keeping Obama tethered to Ayers.

In short, it can't really be done, but it will be attempted.

To closely paraphrase one commentor, "we sure ought to be concerned about alliances, and particularly any association with the anti-US government, friend-of-Iran Vogler and the AIP party."

I talked about the same thing here.

I like how the left wants to discount the Obama/Ayers connection.

What would they think if John McCain had announced his candidacy for the Senate (way back then) from the house of David Duke?

Would it be an issue?

You betcha.

Any objective standard being yours tc, and I don't think you are objective.

So you'll have to do a little better to convince everyone Palin is a secessionist aligned with Iran, LOL. You are simply grasping, trying to deflect what is a clear relationship with a man who actually bombed America, admires Hugo Chavez, and would do it all again if given a choice.
