Macsmind has a copy of the letter sent to President Bush by the Robert Stetham family. It's recommended reading. The story was covered on this site last month.
Arguments are flying as to whether Angela Merkel, new PM of Germany, orchestrated terrorist Hamadi's release in exchange for German citizen Susanne Osthoff, kidnapped in the Sunni triangle of Iraq. German sources claim there was random paid and Hamadi's release was coincidental. Sounds hard to believe, but if what we've been told about the Iraqi group that kidnapped her was true, then I do believe it.
It seems to make no sense for a Sunni-backed terrorist group to desire Hamadi, a Shiite, unless they were going to trade him or use him as a bargaining chip. Alas, Hamadi landed in Lebanon after his release and we've heard no further news. The US is reportedly interested in extradicting him, but Lebanon has no such agreements.
I hope Bush can do something about Stetham's murderer. No doubt there is a high-level game of chess being played for this pawn right now, but such things give little comfort to affected family members. This guy should have long ago found out the disappointing truth about the 72 virgins.
