Saddam--protector of the world

The crazy old fox is at it again. In a December 'interview with his legal team' (let's see if the NY Times calls this propaganda) the Butcher gave us a macro image of how he fits into world peace:
"I'm fighting against U.S. tyranny on behalf of Iraqis, Arabs, all the people of the world. ... The U.S. will not be able to formulate a new world," he told his lawyers.
"They tried in Iraq and failed badly, so by standing against Bush we are protecting other countries and regions of the world. Now the U.S. will think a thousand times before daring to attack another country."
This is the same pan-Arabic drivel he tried during the first Gulf War to enflame the Arab street. He is also speaking to moderate westerners who don't particularly care for Bush, hoping they'll pressure their governments to abandon the coalition. And a nice touch aligning himself with people fighting oppression.
"I worked for the Arabs, and I did my duty. It is now time for the Arabs to stand by me," he told the lawyers.
Just call him ole selfless Saddam. Let me translate--"Hey Palestinians--all those checks I wrote to suicide bomber families, well it's time to cash in that chit".
He considers all the politicians in the Iraq government to be "puppets" of the occupying armies and said they would be treated like criminals if and when Ba'athists reclaimed power.
Ole selfless Saddam, fighting against the forces of tyranny on behalf of the entire world, will personally kill anyone who voted or dared run for office when he wrestles power back away from the masses. How long will Bush let this charade go on? Why is Bush letting this charade go on?
