Pakistanis send message to relief groups

And it wasn't thank you...
After the rally dispersed, 800 to 900 men went on a rampage and attacked the offices of two nongovernmental organizations in the town, according to the local Pakistani reporter. People in the crowd looted computers from an American-financed aid organization called BEST and then torched the compound. The office of an Italian aid group, Intersos, was smashed and looted before the authorities intervened.
The 'rally' they mention was a protest march in response to our Predator attack targeting AQ #2.

This is disgusting, of course. Those relief orgs are still trying to help people affected by the earthquake, who'll be the ones to suffer if the mobs force them out. Silver lining--perhaps such a move would make the millions in reward money start to look better to someone. Surely there's one desperate dummy who knows something.

The mob might have one tiny point, though. It's not out of the question that CIA or other western operatives were under NGO cover using those relief groups. They say it's incredibly difficult to infiltrate that region, therefore I just can't imagine the CIA passing up the opportunity.

As to Zawahiri, even if we nailed him the local Pakis wouldn't admit it. Let's wait and see if he shows up on TV talking about the failed attack before ruling this out. If he disappears from the scene like Bin Laden perhaps we can slide his card over to the dead column. But as we've seen, in wartime the truth is certainly a scarce commodity.

Just saw this. Man, they get their disinformation teams up to speed pretty fast, don't they? (I'm talking about the local AQ-harboring tribesmen)
