Country folk

Here's some music from the Desert Rose Band featuring ex Byrds member Chris Hillman. The group also featured Herb Pederson. Their heyday was the late 80s and early 90s when they charted a number of top country hits before fading fast off the scene. Still, I enjoyed their brand of country-folk while it lasted.

More from the same vein. Here's The Nitty Gritty boys, Steve Wariner and Shania Twain (excuse me a moment. Hmm. OK) doing a folk classic.

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band also had a string of hits in the 80s, such as this one with Nicolette Larson:

Happy Labor Day to all. And remember, while unions have a bad rap in conservative circles and have done some things to deserve it, they've also done some good things for American workers. As a former union member (and even a local steward) I believe they have their place in the system, as long as they remember that companies are primarily in business to make money and fulfill someone's hard-earned dreams, not provide welfare.
